Blind Faith is Done!

Done! I present to you Blind Faith. All it needed was a little broken glass. Now to attach the frame and submit my Juried Show application. I hope I'm accepted!

Blind Faith

I went to Sarnia last night for First Friday, and had a great time! It was surreal-the place was lousy with artists and I didn't want to come back home. I jealously suspect that there's a Hedonism North in one of the art gallery basements, filled with inebriated creators that feed off each other's ideas. While seated in vintage modern furniture, of course. But come home I did, and I worked on my Juried Art Exhibition submission all day today... just me, the radio, and what's left of my sanity.

As you can see, I've used some vintage paper doll wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses in a rather unorthodox way (surprise). You know there are skulls. I must have skulls. Zoom in on the print in the background for a laugh.

An artist that I admire alot told me that I need an art journal. Isn't that just old-school blogging? Regardless, putting my thoughts to paper might somehow funnel the swirl of ideas into workable bits. So, I think I'm going to get out of my art shirt right now and see what I can scrounge up at Winners. Usually they have some neato leather-bound journals and hopefully one will inspire me. I WILL have to check out the shoe section first, though.

In my ideal world, there is lots of art, lots of shoes, and lots of evenings spent with artists.

Sounds like a new shadowbox, doesn't it?
