It is a beautiful spring-like day today! I feel like taking the dolls outside and posing them for a whole new series. Here's Smiley Squirrell with two Muffys from a photo shoot last summer.
I got accepted to the LOOK 2010 show in Sarnia- for round 1. Now I bring the work (He Pushed All Her Buttons) in and they look at it a second time to make sure they really like it. I'm dropping my work off sometime this week. Road trip! I am excited.
Haven't done any shadowboxes since 'The Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary'...... I was briefly without a handyman to build the boxes for me. But now I'm back in the saddle. And I just need some time to create! Balancing work and home and art and life can be really complicated.
Throw in a bout of the flu and you can see how I might not be reaching my art goals. One shadowbox a month- that was my goal. So far, February hasn't been fruitful. Maybe I'll make two in March! I am heading out to Victoria at the end of March, so I'm hoping to have one done before I go, and hoping to get inspiration (and maybe some new stash!) while I'm there.
But in the meantime, the opening for LOOK 2010 is March 5th. If I make it through round 2, I will be exhibiting at my first out-of-town juried art show. Progress!
Winter is almost done. I'm feeling squirrelly......I can't wait to get outside and dig.
