The Queen of He(arts) at Eye for Art 2012
with collage, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills
That's me, dressed as the Queen of He(arts) at Eye for Art 2012. What a great evening! Over 250 people came out to the Thames Art Gallery, many dressed up for Hallowe'en, and checked out all the fabulous artwork by Chatham-Kent artists. The Awards of Excellence went to Becky Fixter Vagners, Tracy Bultje, and Irene MacCreadie. They are all immensely talented friends of mine and I completely agreed with the decision of the Juror, Windsor artist and professor, Jose Seoane. The People's Choice Award went to Leonard Jubenville for his surreal work depicting a field of wind turbines. Wind turbines continue to be a touchy subject around here.
I am now preparing for the Thames Art Gallery Juried Show 2013. I really enjoyed creating the above collage, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and would like to make another large collage. I'd also like to do some more printmaking over the winter, using the photocopy/acetone transfer method and images from my 1970's Good Housekeeping magazine stash.
So many ideas, so little time!
